Formex Industries in a metal forming and assembly company that produces automotive components for vehicle manufacturers. Our customers include South African vehicle producers and international 1st Tier suppliers that sell our products to other car brands. Formex is based in Port Elizabeth; a key automotive manufacturing hub on the continent.

Our product range is extensive and varied. Formex manufactures simple and complex parts, including metal pressings, complex welded assemblies, laser tube welded components and a variety of manipulated tubes for exhaust systems. We specialise in the manufacture of components for catalytic converters, such as cones, half-shells and manifold heat shields.

Formex Industries also produces a range of product assemblies for vehicles, such as oil sumps, brake assemblies and inner door frames. These components are made from various metals, but steel and aluminium are two of the most common materials used.

Formex specialises in producing components for the catalytic converter industry, as well as metal components and assemblies for the various vehicles. Formex aims to become one of the foremost suppliers for the South African automotive industry by 2035, aligning itself with the South African Automotive Masterplan (SAAM) which takes effect in 2020.

Formex is a Level 2 B-BBEE supplier with over 80% black ownership, of which more than 40% are black women. The company is owned by Deneb Investments Limited – a subsidiary of Hosken Consolidated Investments Limited (HCI) – one of South Africa’s biggest true B-BBEE companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
